Dear Friends of C. G. Jung,

Please join us on the weekend of July 25 - 26th in Princeton, British Columbia for a casual seminar/retreat in honor of C. G. Jung’s birthday (July 26th, 1875).  The general structure of the retreat will consist of a directed reading of C.G. Jung's Modern Man in Search of a Soul, and will focus on the “Basic Postulates of Analytical Psychology” and “Freud and Jung - Contrasts” essays. Discussion will be led by Kyle Williams. (Thursday July 23rd and Friday July 24th are optional.)

This is an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate these essays, central to Jung’s work,  through the eyes of a teacher who understands Analytical Psychology in great depth.  Kyle Williams’ recent article, Understading OM, Turiya, and the Three States of Consciousness in the Mandukya Upanishad in the December 2008 issue of Psychological Perspectives illustrates a masterful grasp of Eastern religions and a rare ability to apply a traditional understanding of Analytical Psychology to contemporary issues. Kyle has taught  at Hunter College and Marymount Loyola in New York City, the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, and Antioch University in Seattle. She has lectured on Jung's work for the International Association of Jungian Studies, Friends of Jung, Portland, Oregon, and at the C. G. Jung Society, Seattle. She is currently president of the Seattle C. G. Jung Society.

There is no cost for this seminar gathering. Bringing your own food for this weekend celebration is requested.

The seminar will take place at the country home of Kyle Lee Williams, Participants are invited for optional early morning yoga and meditation followed by breakfast in the garden. Following breakfast we will read aloud and discuss topics in these essays. Afternoons and evenings will be spent enjoying the beautiful outdoor area of Princeton, British Columbia. We will enjoy a hike along the Trans Canada Trail which winds along the spectacular Similkameen river. Tubing and swimming in the river is also available at beautiful Bromley Rock national park. A second session of book discussion may occur prior to dinner. Participants are also invited  to participate in an (optional) relaxing "Awareness Through Movement" (Feldenkrais) lesson prior to dinner.
